About Me
Hello! I’m Gabrielle Likavec, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey as an educator and instructional consultant. My passion for teaching and curriculum design has taken me down some incredible paths, and I’m currently serving as a Teaching and Learning Consultant at Central Michigan University. In this role, I have the privilege of working closely with faculty to enhance instructional practices across various modalities. This collaboration is something I deeply enjoy because it allows me to witness firsthand the positive impact of thoughtful and innovative teaching strategies.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to lead and contribute to several meaningful initiatives. One of the projects I’m particularly proud of is a yearlong AI in education program, where I explored the integration of AI tools in teaching. Additionally, I’ve been involved in an Open Education Resources project that developed over 20 free course resources, making education more accessible to students. Another memorable project was the district-wide One School, One Book initiative, which put books in the hands of nearly 1,000 students, fostering a love for reading.
Before my current role, I co-coordinated the Michigan Geographic Alliance, where I provided professional development workshops to over 1,000 teachers and contributed to the revision of K-12 social studies standards. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that strengthened my commitment to education.
When I’m not deep in the world of “EduNerding,” you can find me cheering on my senior football, hockey, and track athlete or being herded by my two corgis. At the heart of everything I do is my passion for teaching and helping others discover the joy in learning, whether it’s through mindful instruction or the thoughtful integration of technology
